Since November 8th or 9th, google.co.il is broken. Below you can see screenshots of search results. I have tried to contact Google, sent the message to several people who have forwarded it to Google. I was cotacted by a Google director who promissed to pass my message to the Google engineering team. I have prepared this page for the Google engineers but didn't hear anything from any of them. I have posted a message in google.public.support.general but got no official response. A day before I have noticed the problem, Tara Calishain published the following news item in ResearchBuzz: "Google's added two country-specific domains: Poland (http://www.google.pl) and Thailand (http://www.google.co.th/). That brings the number of country-specific domains that Google offers to 36." Maybe this caused the problem in google.co.il As of now, google.co.il is still broken. Search text = "חנן כהן" (my name in Hebrew) All search results - no title, no cache link, no search term in context. Same search as above, a few hours later. Search text = "חנן כהן" (my name in Hebrew) First search result - title text is "no title", no cache link, no search term in context. Search text = "מעריב" (a name of a major newspaper) First search result - no title, no search term in context. Second search result - title text is "no title", no cache link Third result - same as second result Search text = "סקס" (sex in Hebrew) Totally unrelated directory categories All search results - no title, no cache link, no search term in context. Search text = "שתיל" (a name of a website I manage) First search result - the title is taken from the name of the site in the directory and not from the real title of the page. Second search result - title text is "no title", no cache link, no search term in context. |
